Let your pooch enjoy the fall season by giving a delicious treat he will surely love! This dog-friendly treat recipe is a great way to use those pumpkin leftovers from Halloween or Thanksgiving. Preparing these healthy pumpkin cookies is very easy.
The recipe is 1:1 pumpkin to flour. You may adjust up or down depending on the quantity you want to make. To start you’ll need:
2 cups pumpkin puree. You can also use butternut squash or sweet potato, 2 cups flour of your choice, and frozen peas.
Steps:
- Mix flour and the pumpkin puree. Add the flour slowly, as you may need to adjust. The dough should be soft but not too sticky.
- Roll the dough into a ball.
- Press down the ball with the back of the fork. This will flatten the ball and will add the ridges.
- Place a pea in the top.
- Bake the set of dough at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Let the cookies cool before serving them to your dog.
